Snowboarder

The temperature outside is dropping and my anticipation of winter is rising. I drew this with charcoal to express my love of snowboarding. It is very simple subject matter, with no background, but I think it is very clear what I am trying to represent. It could use more detail in the pants and board, but I am just afraid of messing up, what I already have got.
Any helpful advice would be nice. It could be done, but I just think it needs something more.

  1. If you had a definite light source it would help you capture those details you want more easy :) I like it , dont be afraid of messing up :)

  2. I agree with Dani, it's hard to see the details so I suggest better lighting. Maybe add a little more of a background, try to tell a story. Add some trees or make a mountain landscape and since he's snowboarding, draw some snow flying off in different directions to make it look more authentic. Also don't be afraid to mess up! I know working with charcoal isn't easy so I understand what you mean. :)

  4. I think the overall figure looks very good!
Human proportions, helmet, folds of clothes, looks very nice.
I do think the snowboard might look a bit flat? And I would agree with the comments your colleagues made. Messing up will make you improve.

    Thanks for posting!
