Hey guys! I was wondering if you would leave some feedback on my hallway drawing. I was sitting in a chair, so let me know if my perspective is off.. Thanks! :)
I think that you did well! I think the detail in the walls with those little lines and how they compress when they come to that point is done nicely. I think as far as perspective goes with your horizon line you're good. The chair on the left looks a little tilted? but its hard to say maybe it was slightly turned like that from where you were sitting. I like it and think its good :)
Here's a few of my thoughts for what it's worth. I think that for the most part, your perspective looks fine. While I like the line is that you have, I wonder if you use a compass for the arch (of the doorway) it would look a bit cleaner?
I personally find shading an environment to be very challenging, so I think you're doing a very decent job. Have you considered trying cross-hatching/shading just a part to indicate light and shadow--I think the chairs need shadows? or maybe even just line drawings?
cross-hatching (even just a bit) could give it a bit of volume, I think: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uL_hSg3HWEM/UWrqCM-Kg5I/AAAAAAAAE8I/t85RSs3k9jk/s1600/IMG_3982.JPG
line drawings may give you certain effects if you stress the line weight on one part and lighten the stroke on others: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nkP-yGYNs2Q/TSlOAIEcWuI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/guJApOGK5Bc/s1600/sketch7.jpg http://gamesareevil.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Level-Concept.jpg http://readman.deviantart.com/art/Environment-design-270191121
But I really like the composition and how the view is framed symmetrically on your page. I also really enjoy the details you put in your drawings.
I hope these help.
Thanks for sharing! And keep up with the good work!
I think this looks good! I especially like your drawing of the patterns along the wall, that is good use of thin lines. Even though shading was not part of the requirements, I agree with Darwin that it would give your piece a more finished appearance. A little bit of shading along the trim and embellishments on the wall would probably make it seem more dynamic. You could also add a reflection on the archway window if you want to be fancy.
